River Valley Waldorf School is seeking dynamic, Waldorf-trained teachers to join our dedicated faculty beginning in the 2007-2008 school year.
The following class teaching positions are available:
First Grade Teacher
Sixth Grade Teacher
Seventh/Eighth Grade Teacher for a combined class
Part-time German Teacher
Garden Gate (Parent-Child) Teacher (Part-time)
The Garden Gate teacher leads classes with small groups of parents and young children, modeling behavior, using beautiful, age-appropriate songs, rhymes and stories to aid parents in creating a healthy and harmonious rhythm for their child’s day. The teacher also leads parent study with materials to assist parents in deepening their understanding of the young child. Teaching experience and Waldorf Early Childhood training desired.
Nursery Teacher (Part-time)
Lead teacher for a new 2-day class to be added to our Nursery program for 2 ½ to 4 years olds. Teaching experience and Waldorf Early Childhood training desired.
Language Arts (Part-time)
Part-time Language Arts Skills teacher for 6 hours per week, grades 5-8. Teaching experience and a College degree are required.
Math Teacher (Part-time)
RVWS is seeking a part-time math teacher for 6 hours per week, grades 5-8. Teaching experience and a College degree are required.
After-school Teacher for 2008-09 – We are looking for someone to lead study hall and free time next year for children in grades 3 and up. The hours are from 3 to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Previous childcare experience required.
River Valley Waldorf School is located in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania on the hills just above the Delaware River. Founded in 1994, we are a candidate-pending member of AWSNA. Our campus is situated in a serene, rural setting, yet we are conveniently just over an hour from both New York City and Philadelphia. Housed in a former public elementary school building, our programs include grades one through eight, mixed-age kindergartens, nursery and Garden Gate (our parent-child program). We are proud to offer a strong professional development program for our faculty, extensive adult education opportunities including lectures, workshops, study groups and performances. River Valley Waldorf School is home to a supportive College of Teachers, Board of Trustees, professional staff, involved parent body and an internationally diverse faculty.
We are accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools, and are actively continuing our path toward full AWSNA membership & accreditation. We are committed to offering a full compliment of specialty subjects, which currently include: Spanish, German, Eurythmy, handwork, sculptural arts (woodworking & clay) and music. After-school activities include therapeutic Eurythmy, art therapy, soccer, instrumental music lessons, tumbling and a variety of other artistic pursuits.
We offer fully trained teachers a starting salary of $31,000 and $500 for each year of Waldorf teaching experience, as well as extensive mentoring and tuition assistance for continuing education. Our full-time teachers receive additional benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, tuition remission and a retirement plan.
