Job Postings River Valley Waldorf School is Seeking: Part-time Music Teacher for 2010-11 Music teacher needed for 10 hours per week to teach 4-8th grade chorus, theory and recorder in combined classes. Salary is $30 per hour. An option for after school chorus could represent additional hours and pay. The school year runs 36 weeks between September and June. Candidates need experience with this age group, choral instruction and piano accompaniment. Qualifications: Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school age children. River Valley Waldorf School is seeking a Part-time Spanish teacher for grades 5 through 8 We are looking for an experienced teacher who is a native Spanish speaker, well versed in Latin American cultural life and knowledgeable in the fundamentals of written and conversational Spanish with effective teaching skills that nurture and help develop the natural capabilities in children. The ideal candidate would have a deep love for working with children, a creative approach to teaching grammar, enthusiasm as well as the ability to work well with colleagues. This teacher needs to be familiar with Waldorf teaching and will be expected to create lessons based on Waldorf curriculum guidelines and deliver them in a lively, dynamic and structured class environment. Waldorf teaching experience preferred. Garden Gate (Parent-Child) Teacher (Part-time) Needed: The Garden Gate teacher leads classes with small groups of parents and young children. The teacher fosters a nurturing environment in class where teachers and parents cooperate in purposeful activity which inspires the children in their play. Children may help or play independently as they begin learning how to be an individual within a group. Teachers model behavior, using beautiful, age-appropriate songs, rhymes and stories to aid parents in creating a healthy and harmonious rhythm for their child’s day. The weekly program includes adult crafts and child development discussions. It is the intent of all our Garden Gate offerings to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for the parents and caregivers as well as the children. Garden Gate is not just for ‘mommies.’ Daddies, grandparents, step-parents and nannies or other caregivers are welcome to bring the children. The teacher also leads two parent evenings per session and provides study materials to assist parents in deepening their understanding of the young child. River Valley offers Garden Gate in 2 16-week sessions per year. Morning classes are offered several mornings a week from 9:00 am until 11:30 pm.
