Sculptural Arts
Clay and woodworking (with hand tools) are both introduced in 5th grade and continue through 8th grade. 

Eurythmy
A feature unique to Waldorf education, the beautiful art of eurythmy introduces students to the creative dynamics underlying speech and music through movement. Development of concentration, spatial orientation and dexterity are enhanced as the rhythms of speech and music are experienced through the whole body.

Physical Education
At River Valley, physical education begins with cooperative and non-competitive games. As the students get older, more traditional team sports are included in weekly instructional time (soccer, field hockey, volleyball, basketball). During 5th grade, students train for a regional Greek Olympiad and learn a variety of track and field events.
