Preschool & Kindergarten
Mixed Age Kindergartens: This is a 4-5 day program intended for children from 4 to 6 years of age. Children who will be 5 or older by June 1, prior to the school-year are expected to attend 5 days per week. Children who reach 6 years of age by June 1 will be assessed for 1st grade readiness. The parent or guardian will submit an application for the child and will have an interview with RVWS faculty. Children will have a class visit to assess readiness. Preference is given to siblings of older students and children who have participated in our other early childhood programs. (Link to Kinder Specifics?)
Afternoon Garden: This is our early childhood extended day program. This class runs from 1:00pm until 3:15pm. Children from both the nursery and kindergartens are eligible to participate. It is an extension of the early childhood morning and includes: snack, quiet time, story, indoor/outdoor free-play and ongoing craft activities. Registration is monthly. Children may attend as few as one day per week or as many as five. River Valley also offers after-school care which runs from 3:15pm until 5:00pm.
